What is NI?

NI is the Narratives Institute, the training arm of Narratives Media. It runs cohort-based programs, taught by people who do the work for a living.

Why NI?

You leave with a certification from NI, plus a resume and portfolio that are ready to send out. If you are qualified enough, that can mean a job offer at Narratives Media. If it does not, we help you take the next step in your career elsewhere.

How is this different from an online course?

You apply, you sit an entrance test, and you join a cohort with a start date, instructors and classmates. Your assignments are marked and you get feedback on them. A course you buy does none of that.

Who is NI for?

People who want to work in the field, not only read about it. Each program states its own entry requirements: the video editing program asks for no prior editing experience.

How do I join?

Admission runs in three steps: submit an application, sit the entrance test if you are shortlisted, then confirm your seat when an offer is made. Each intake has its own deadlines, published on the program page.

Do I need experience to apply?

The video editing program lists no prior editing experience as a requirement. The entrance test covers judgement about footage, basic editing-software literacy and a short written answer. Read the program's requirements before you apply.

What do I get at the end?

A certification recording the modules you covered and how you were assessed, and the project work you produced, which is what your portfolio is built from.

How are programs delivered?

Lessons are delivered in a hybrid model, combining recorded, live and onsite sessions. Live and onsite sessions have fixed times, and assignments and cohort milestones have fixed dates. All times on the site are Dhaka time.

What does it cost?

Fees are set per intake and published on the program page with that intake's dates. Where a fee has not been announced yet, the page says so instead of showing a figure.
